Our Team

The Central NSW BEC has a strong, diverse and knowledgeable team. They are professionals highly-experienced in helping businesses meet their needs through advice and training. They have a hands-on approach and create long-term collaborative relationships. Our team members possess a deep knowledge of the industry supported by a broad understanding of the core business issues that are being faced today by business.

From these three locations we offer an outreach service to the following towns:

  • Orange – outreach to Cabonne, Cowra, Grenfell and West Wyalong
  • Bathurst – outreach to Lithgow, Blayney and Oberon
  • Mudgee – outreach to Rylstone, Kandos and Gulgong

 

Bruce Buchanan

Executive Officer

Bruce is the Executive Officer of the Central NSW Business Enterprise Centre. Arriving in July 1999, Bruce has worked hard to develop the BEC into a “One-Stop-Shop” for professional business advice, support and training. Under Bruce’s direction, the Central NSW BEC has twice won Best Regional BEC in Australia at the National Awards (most recently in 2014) and has grown the Centre by over 1000% in ten years.

Bruce is a sought-after speaker and facilitator who specialises in providing quality advice, support, coaching and training to Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) through the Central NSW Region. With extensive knowledge of SME’s needs and a track record of providing proven solutions to grow and build successful businesses; he has worked with hundreds of business owners assisting them to accelerate their growth and value.

Bruce is passionate about business and assisting businesses to succeed. He ensures that his skill development workshops are practical, informative, relevant and fun, but most importantly outcome driven. He is Chairman of the Cadia Valley Community Consultative Committee, and recently retired from a 4 year engagement on the NSW Fair Trading Advisory Board. He is also currently the NSW Representative on BEC Australia Board and National NEIS Association.

Kathy Sielicki

Training Manager

Kathy has been involved in the Vocational Education Training Community for over 30yrs. Her career background has always had a training focus, be that for industry or in the training and assessment field.

Vocational Education drives her world and she believes that learning & development is a lifelong process and that every training session is an opportunity to grow, develop, refresh or learn new things.

Kathy is the Training Manager at the BEC Business & Training Centre. Her role includes the preparation, presentation and delivery of accredited vocation education and providing quality advice on all aspects of training.

Wayne Sunderland, Central NSW BEC

Wayne has been helping hundreds of small and medium sized business achieve their goals, strategies and training needs as a Business Advisor and mentor over the last 6 years through the Central NSW Business Enterprise Centre and Central NSW Business HQ. He enjoys talking to businesses and working with them to develop and expand using cost efficient technologies, methods and practices to suit their individual needs. Wayne understands that businesses come in all shapes and sizes and each is unique with their own issues and experience level.

Wayne is experienced and passionate about helping small business at all levels from start ups, those expanding or contracting to those wishing to sell or close their business

Wayne is a qualified trainer and has taught Small Business Management, Micro Business Operations, Work Health and Safety and Front Line Management.

Prior to joining the BEC Wayne was with the ATO as a GST Field Officer and assisted businesses in learning about their GST and PAYG obligations. He was also an auditor and worked in special projects looking at high risk groups such as the construction industry and other areas of the cash economy.

Wayne was also an officer in the Royal Australian Navy and worked in many varied roles such as small teams on patrol boats, warships and in an operational capacity at Maritime Headquarters.

Faye Buchanan

J.P. (NSW)

Faye comes from a small business family having grown up in the hospitality and accommodation industry. She has also owned and operated a home-based business for over 7 years.

Faye has been with the Central NSW BEC since 2003, and has developed and managed many areas of the growing business operations in that time. She is passionate about offering high standards of quality customer service to all areas of the business and client contacts.

Faye is our NEIS Manager; looking after the jobactive Program that offers self employment opportunities for eligible jobseekers through the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme. Faye’s lengthy experience and background in small business and the hospitality industry coupled with her qualifications in Frontline Management, Workplace Health & Safety, provides her with a solid foundation to manage this program on behalf of the BEC.

Lindsay Gale, Central NSW BEC

Lindsay is a Bathurst resident and has lived in Central NSW (Bathurst, Orange and Mudgee) since 1974. Lindsay previously ran his own business “Stopnrock” a retail music store based in Bathurst since 1980. He is also a partner in “The Hub Espresso Bar & Eatery” in Bathurst and brings extensive business experience directly from the “Frontlines” to assist business clients in growing their enterprise.

Lindsay is a Business Development Manager, funded under the Australian Small Business Advisory Program (ASBAS) and assists clients in the areas of Financial Management, Business Planning, Digital Engagement and making the most of your Talent and Team.

Russell Meadley, Central NSW BEC

Russell has worked in Bathurst and throughout the Central West of NSW for over 30 years and comes to the BEC with a wealth of knowledge in business, innovation and sustainability.

Prior to joining the BEC, Russell was with “Skillset”, a Group Training Company for over 18 years in various roles including; Field Officer, Bathurst Branch Manager, Industrial Relations Manager, Project Office and Business Services Manager.

Russell has also conducted waste and energy assessments for businesses and conducted WorkCover accredited training (White Card). He is also an active member of the Boundary Road Reserve Landcare Group and has previously been the Chairperson.
